To complete the judging panel for the 2012 season we would like to introduce you to a man who has been involved with drifting since it began here in the UK.
What he hasn’t achieved forms a VERY small list!
Its with great pleasure we welcome to the BDC and more importantly the judging panel, Mr Brett Castle!
Hi! I’m Brett Castle and I’m going to be one of the judges for this year’s BDC. I’m really looking forward to the challenge. I’ve been involved in drifting for years and I feel that I can really pick up on the subtle techniques that the driver’s are using.
I came across drifting in 2001 by chance. My first introduction to drifting was when I took my 200sx S14a to Option Motorsport in Silverstone to have some tuning work done. There I met a group of Motorsport enthusiasts with visions of bringing drifting to the UK scene. We formed one of the UK’s first drift teams ‘OPT Drift Club’.
My drifting career started in 2002 driving a white Nissan 200sx S13, an Option Motorsport car. I went to the only drift event in the UK- UKD1. It was held on a live areodrome where a tractor would douse the ‘track’ with water before we were allowed out to try and drift on it. Things have progressed a lot in the time I’ve been drifting!

We will let Chunk give you his story of how he got involved and we look forward to seeing him at round 1 in just over 2 weeks!
“Hey all, my name is Rich Newton, or more commonly know as ‘Chunk’, I’ve been involved in the drifting scene now for around 7 years , both competing and judging.
