With the weather in the UK being terrible with snow and freezing conditions, there was always a doubt to whether this event would take place at all!
The venue had been cleared of snow on Friday evening, but arrival at the track we found a coating of 75mm of snow covering the track! Not the best start to the day, how ever due to the fantastic work from the ground crew at Norfolk Arena by 1000 the track was cleared, marked out and ready for the drifting to begin!
With the track tested by judge Rich Newton and Mark Buckle the action began at 1015, a little later than planned but the normal relaxed BDC atmosphere and banter meant smiles all round.
Conditions were tricky to start with as the remainder of the snow melted under the spinning rubber of the 35+ cars that were attending.
Some regulars could be seen around the arena, Lewis Cracknell‘s car was present but not for Lewis, but his dad Phil was getting in on the action hoping to achieve a licence. Keeping it in the family! Continue reading →
