The Maxxis British Drift Championship is hugely excited to announce the partnership with Greenlight TV for our upcoming 2012 season.
What this means is each BDC round will be filmed for the 30-minute Motorsport Mundial Programme set to be aired on Channel 5 reaching 17.5 million homes in the UK.
Additionally, Motorsport Mundial will also be broadcast worldwide on Sky Sports and ESPN reaching over 600 million people worldwide!
This is the first time a TV programme dedicated to drifting has been produced for a terrestrial channel with the whole series being covered round after round in a similar fashion to the WTCC and FIA GT3 championships.
Greenlight TV will also be providing exclusive clips, round-ups and segments not only for the BDC website but also YouTube channel allowing you to watch your favourite drift series any time, any place.
Rob Hurdman, director from Greenlight Television said, ‘We are delighted to be involved in the Maxxis British Drift Championship. Drifting is one of the fastest growing motorsports and we look forward to giving it the television coverage it rightly deserves, starting with inclusion in our weekly motorsport magazine programmes which go to over 610 million homes worldwide, including Channel 5, Sky Sports and ESPN in the UK. We hope the added exposure will see the Championship go from strength to strength and we will be working with Paul, Mark and the team on a long term basis.’
Filming will begin at Round 1 of the Maxxis British Drift Championship taking place at Teesside Autodrome during the 21st and 22nd of April 2012. You can see an exclusive preview of the upcoming show Motorsport Mundial on Greenlight TV’s Vimeo page here:
