As we announced earlier in the year the Maxxis Tyres British Drift Championship will be aired on television across the world during the season.

After an epic event at Lydden Hill over the weekend we can now officially announce the winners of round one of the Maxxis Tyres British Drift Championship!
Semi Professional class winner – Matt Samuel – Car Loan 4U
2013 marks the sixth year of the British Drift Championship, now with the support of some of the largest motorsport companies in the world! This year’s championship will be held over five rounds at some of the best tracks in the UK, including the BDC’s long-awaited return to one particular venue.
Support from Cosworth, K&N, Samco, Lucas Oils and many others is proof that the sport of drifting (and the British Drift Championship in particular) is now the place to be seen and is well-recognised as the pinnacle of drifting in the UK and Ireland.
After the perfect end to an amazing season we can now officially announce the winners from round 6.
The Semi Pro class was won by Jay Green
The mind numbingly dull off-season is finally over; the Maxxis British Drift Championship has kicked off in dramatic fashion at Teesside Autodrome! A winter of frantic car building and a wave of new blood entering into the mix thanks to our licensing programme has really paid off; every class is packed, with a total of 96 confirmed cars and drivers!
With the season just around the corner we thought it was about time we introduced you to another new judge for the 2012 Maxxis British Drift Championship.
This time we are going international!

Ladies and gents
We are all set to end the UK drift season in style this weekend at the Nissan Factory, Washington SR5 3NS.

The event will consist of not one, not two but THREE top 16 battles!
Each class will qualify, out of the 75+ drivers that are attending 48 will make the cut, all hoping to make the all important top 16’s.
Once the top 16 drivers in each class have announced they will be placed into pairs.
They will then do battle! Each pair will complete a practice run followed by two battles. Each driver will take turns to lead in the battles. The winner of each pair of battles will be the driver who can follow the chase car and mimic every move. Speed, line and angle being the three elements the judges will be looking for.
The judged line will be set by our three resident judges Julian Smith, Rich ‘Chunk’ Newton and Mitch Clarke, all three are seasoned veterans in drifting and have years of experience between them!
In the battles the top qualifying car will then compete against the 16th placed car/driver, 2nd place will go against 15th, 3rd against 14th and so on throughout the field. The battles are co-ordinated so it is possible for the top 8 drivers can make it through the first round of battles, the top four could then make it to the semi finals and the top two make it to the final! This all depends if they can win every battle on their way to the final!

We will be starting the finals at 1300 on Sunday! Time for you to have a lie in, then come and join us!
We will be giving you the chance to meet and greet the drivers, have a look around the cars before we start the finals.
So get yourself a good night’s sleep and make your way over to the Nissan Factory for 12 noon and get set for an afternoon packed full of action!
